Terms of Service

Future Leaders Working – Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 1, 2022

Welcome to Future Leaders Working (“FLW,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of all FLW programs, services, events, digital platforms, websites, applications, training, and any related materials (“Services”). By participating in any FLW program or accessing any FLW platform, you (“you,” “participant,” “user,” or “visitor”) agree to these Terms.

Please read them carefully.

1. Mission Alignment

FLW is a nonprofit organization dedicated to mentoring and supporting Alabama residents with caregiving responsibilities who face barriers to career advancement. Participation in FLW programs requires behavior aligned with our mission, values, and community expectations.

We reserve the right to deny or discontinue services for conduct that conflicts with our mission or disrupts program operations.

2. Eligibility

To access certain FLW programs, you must meet specific eligibility requirements, which may include:

  • Residency requirements
  • Background screening
  • Age and caregiver status
  • Completion of required forms, interviews, or assessments
  • Attendance and participation commitments

Eligibility criteria may vary by program. FLW reserves the right to update or modify eligibility requirements at any time.

3. Program Participation Requirements

Participants in any FLW training, mentorship, or workforce initiative agree to:

  • Attend scheduled classes, events, or meetings on time
  • Communicate in advance if unable to attend
  • Complete required assignments, surveys, or evaluations
  • Maintain respectful, professional conduct
  • Follow all rules provided in program handbooks
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information shared during sessions
  • Use FLW equipment, technology, or learning materials responsibly

Repeated failure to meet program expectations may result in dismissal from the program.

4. Code of Conduct

All users agree to:

  • Treat staff, volunteers, partners, and other participants with respect
  • Avoid harassment, discrimination, violence, or harmful behavior
  • Refrain from disruptive or unsafe conduct
  • Avoid fraudulent, dishonest, or misleading actions
  • Respect all FLW property, facilities, and digital platforms

Any violation of this Code may lead to removal from programs or denial of future access.

5. Attendance and No-Show Policy

Many FLW programs have limited enrollment and involve financial investment. Participants agree to:

  • Attend all sessions unless excused in advance
  • Follow the stated no-call/no-show policy
  • Understand that  repeated no-shows may lead to removal or ineligibility for future FLW opportunities

For interviews or program enrollment appointments, a no-call/no-show may affect future eligibility.

6. Technology & Platform Usage

When using FLW’s websites, applications, digital libraries, or other platforms, users agree not to:

  • Attempt unauthorized access
  • Upload harmful files or software
  • Copy, distribute, or misuse FLW materials without permission
  • Misrepresent identity
  • Use any platform for illegal purposes

FLW may suspend or terminate access for misuse of digital systems.

7. Privacy & Data Collection

FLW may collect personal information for program operations, communication, reporting, and grant compliance. By participating, you agree to FLW’s data practices, which may include:

  • Storing your contact and demographic information
  • Tracking participation and progress
  • Collecting required documents
  • Sharing limited information with trusted partners as needed for program delivery

FLW will never sell your data and complies with reasonable nonprofit privacy standards.

8. Media Consent

By participating in any FLW event or program, you grant permission for FLW to:

  • Photograph or record you
  • Use your image in promotional, educational, or fundraising materials
  • Share visuals  on social media, marketing collateral, or grant reports

If you wish to opt out of media use, you must request and sign a Media Opt-Out Form.

9. Financial Incentives, Scholarships & Stipends

Some FLW programs may offer:

  • Stipends or training incentives
  • Empowerment baskets
  • Scholarships
  • Access to tools or equipment

These benefits are not guaranteed and depend on:

  • Completion of required activities

Failure to meet participation requirements may result in loss of benefits.

10. Community & Partner Organizations

FLW often collaborates with external partners such as:

  • Colleges and training institutions
  • Community organizations
  • Employers
  • Health agencies
  • Donors and sponsors

Participation in partner programs may require additional terms and conditions outside of FLW’s control.

11. Employment Disclaimer

Participation in FLW programs does not guarantee employment.
However, FLW provides coaching, mentoring, and job placement support, and participants are expected to engage fully to maximize these opportunities.

12. Intellectual Property

Termination does not release the participant from previously agreed obligations (e.g., return of equipment).

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama.

17. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing FLW services, attending an FLW program, submitting an application, or engaging with any FLW platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service.
