FLWA 2.0: Desks to Drills is a comprehensive training program designed to equip young parents with essential skills in both general administration and construction. The program prepares participants for certification as International Code Council Certified Permit Technicians, among other qualifications, enhancing their employability in the construction industry.
The program is targeted at young parents aged 18 to 30 who are looking to expand their skill set and pursue career opportunities in the construction and administrative sectors. No prior experience in construction is necessary.
The program runs from January 4, 2025, to April 12, 2025. Classes are held every Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Bishop State College in Mobile, AL. This schedule is designed to accommodate participants who may be working or have other commitments during the weekdays. A hot breakfast and lunch will be served.
Participants will receive certifications in Microsoft Excel and Word, OSHA 10, Alabama Career Essentials, and as International Code Council Certified Permit Technicians upon successful completion of the program.
